The Senior Business Consultant is part of the Project and Portfolio Team and provides research, analysis, and coordination for ongoing development and implementation of the Enterprise strategic plan, with particular focus on the NOC. Additionally, the Senior Business Consultant is responsible for providing guidance to ensure the work done within the project portfolio accomplishes company and Departmental goals.


  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience


  • Required: 8 Years of (combined) experience in developing and executing business plans, experience in working directly with Department Sr. Leaders on complex business issues and experience in developing and presenting recommendations to Senior Leaders and Executives
  • Required: 7 Years of analytical and/or operational experience
  • Required: 5 Years of experience in airline operations, business process analysis and leading/facilitating changes within operational software systems
  • Required: 3 Years of experience in data collection, analysis and presentation
  • Preferred: 2 Years of experience using visual display & reporting tools
  • Preferred: 2 Years of experience in NOC and related tools


  • Preferred: Green belt in Lean Six Sigma


  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job


  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Some travel may be required

  • Partners with NOC Senior Leadership and other departments to lead various activities required in the ongoing development of the Department's Strategic Plan, project portfolio, and implementation of initiatives against the plan
  • Connects with stakeholders in other departments and develops relationships across the company to identify impacts to/from the NOC plan
  • Ensures programs, projects and operations are aligned to the NOC and Enterprise strategic objectives
  • Provides guidance regarding the selection, prioritization, and termination of portfolio projects according to Department plans
  • Measures and monitors the value to the organization through portfolio performance metrics and targets
  • Supports Senior-level decision making with timely and appropriate information
  • Contributes to the measurement of strategic opportunities and programs
  • Considered a business strategy/project advisor, responsible for driving analysis, recommendations and delivery
  • Represents a solid viewpoint in process/efficiency improvement projects for Operations
  • Provides guidance to Peers and other Team members to transfer knowledge and support their development
  • Fosters solid change management within and across departments for projects and initiatives
  • Identifies training opportunities and needs with departments
  • Manages and supports mid-large scale projects
  • Build strong relationships with other Operational and support departments to ensure constant sharing of knowledge and lessons learned

  • Proficient – in the Microsoft Office Suite required, including strong PowerPoint and Excel
