As an Organizational Design Practitioner, you will work closely with Department Leaders and HR Business Partners to understand the business strategy, re-design departments, centralize back office functions, and re-imagine org charts to reduce duplication and increase efficiency. This position will drive a holistic Organizational Design process and partner with leaders to define the future vision, identify improvement opportunities, and create future state organizational designs. While this job will have elements of change management and org development, we are looking for professionals with specific re-org / re-design / re-structuring experience.


  • Lead organizational re-design of departments or across multiple departments, including restructuring teams, capabilities, and developing governance models to help drive effective decision making
  • Lead multiple organizational design projects simultaneously or single complex cross-functional shared services re-design
  • Define new department operating models in partnership with Senior Leaders and HR Business Partners
  • Story-board, create, and refine presentations for an executive audience and communicate narrative and story behind org design proposals
  • Apply expertise in organization design to help leaders assess their current state and design their future state operating models, coaching them through a transformation journey
  • Analyze spans and layers to identify and remedy organizational design inefficiencies
  • Lead design workshops across the Org Design process and adapt to Senior Leader specific requirements
  • Leverage design principles, methodologies, and playbooks to manage multiple organization design projects for variety of internal clients
  • Apply overall project management skills to manage organizational design projects as formal engagements, including scoping, planning, and executing work and achieving benefits realization
  • Utilize org design methods, activities and tools for Org and Team structure, spans and layers analysis, org sizing, and reporting lines
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, leaders, and Workforce Planning to optimize workforce labor spend and find headcount efficiencies through Organizational Design
  • Evaluate metrics and benchmarking to apply to organizational improvements
  • Leverage technology to create future state org chart / org design options, and understand headcount and org design metrics (spans, layers, labor cost)
  • Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Must have advanced PPT presentation and project management skills


  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Human Capital Management, Management Consulting, Strategic Projects, Organizational design, or Organizational Effectiveness or related fields
  • Experience in M&A organizational design and integration a plus but not required
  • Experience in Management Consulting or Mid-Cap to Large Cap companies preferred
