Mainframe support developer with knowledge of IBM mainframe tools and software. In addition, you should have 10+ years of Cobol development experience. Less than 20% of the time will be maintaining/supporting Cobol code, with the remaining time involved in researching items, production support, Unix/Linux scripts, testing or validating process changes, TWS and data/process queries. There will be minimal new COBOL development.
Heavy use in JCL, CICS, Unix/Linux scripts and DB2. Supporting mainframe system with minimal Cobol development and must have the ability to develop/maintain Unix/Linux scripts. Will also be supporting and/or validating mainframe software upgrades.
Self-starter who is willing to dig in and learn something if they don’t know it. Also, be on-call one week a month.
Should have most the following skillsets:
- LINUX/UNIX Shell scripts & Cron Jobs
- TWS scheduler
- IBM TIVOLI (TWS)
- VSAM (optional)
- FILE MANAGER (optional)
- ENDEVOR (not to administer it but know how to use it)
- DFHSM (optional)
- IBM Utilities (i.e. IDCAMS, IEBCOPY) – optional
- REXX/CLIST (optional)
- CONNECT:DIRECT (optional)
- ASSEMBLER (would be helpful to have but not required)
